Alan Goldberger represents closely held and publicly traded corporations and other businesses, insurance carriers and claims administrators, athletic officials' associations, sports organizations, and individuals on a local, state, and national scale. He is a member of the New Jersey, New York and Maryland Bars and practices in the areas of sports law, business law, sports insurance defense, association law, and commercial and chancery litigation. Alan represents clients in business related disputes, defense of liability claims, risk management consulting, administrative hearings, and contractual relations.
A nationally recognized authority on sports law and sports officiating, Alan Goldberger is frequently retained by insurance carriers and claims administrators to defend sports officials and sports related entities.
Alan is the author of Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide, the recognized legal authority for game officials, now in its 2nd edition, and coauthor of Sport, Physical Activity and the Law, a college textbook now in its 3rd edition. He has written numerous articles that have appeared in legal and athletic publications nationwide. Alan has been a featured speaker at national, regional and local conferences; and his work has been featured in national publications, and numerous newspaper, radio and television appearances.
Alan is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and the Rutgers University School of Law - Camden. Alan is AV®_Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is an A. M. Best Recommended Insurance Attorney.
